XBOX 360 Arcade Information

The XBOX 360 Arcade is the entry-level console in the XBOX 360 system range. The Arcade Edition is the cheapest version of the XBOX 360, with the Elite version being the most expensive. The Arcade Edition is boxed with a white wireless gamepad, a 256 MB memory card and a standard AV connector (red, white and yellow cables ).

The 256 MB memory card also comes bundled with 5 Free XBOX Live Arcade games (full games NOT demos). These are UNO, Pac-Man, Feeding Frenzy, Luxor 2 & Boom Rocket. Also Included with the XBOX 360 Arcade is a XBOX live silver membership, ideal for playing multiplayer games online!

The console does come as standard with a HDMI output port, for use on high defintion televisions (up to 1080i resolution). However, you will need to purchase a HDMI cable to use this port as the cable is not included in the box (the Elite Edition version of the XBOX 360 includes a 2 metre HDMI cable).

The XBOX 360 Arcade is an ideal package for low budget families looking for the same XBOX 360 experience but without the additional extra goodies that come with the Premium and Elite Editions of the console. The lack of Hard Drive with the Arcade edition may be an issue for gamers looking to download full game demos of XBOX Live as they will need hard drive storage to be able to play these. If you are looking to be able to play movie trailers and game demos, a XBOX Premium or Elite edition may be a better option for you.

Overall the Arcade edition is a popular choice for the young gamer or familys looking for a budget console. The XBOX 360 Arcade Edition has the same technology inside it as the Elite Edition of the console, so your gaming experience won't suffer if you do decide on the cheaper Arcade Edition option.
