Playstation 3 Slim 120GB Information

The PS3 Slim is Sony's latest console release, just in time for Christmas 2009! The PS3 Slim is effectively the same console as the original Playstation 3, however the console is now a more compact design with quieter operation. The PS3 Slim still has all of the original Playstation 3 features including an upscaling DVD player and Blu-Ray compatibility. The only service they have removed is the backwards compatibility with Playstation 2 games. The PS3 Slim's lower power consumption is a whopping 34% lower than the original Playstation 3, its also 36% lighter!

As the console is basically the same as the original Playstation 3 the only differences you are going to spot are minor. The PS3 slim has a new DVD drive, it's a lot quieter and the console now has a more matt finish rather than a glossy effect.

Sony times the release of the PS3 Slim with the new operating software version 3.0. The new software has an improved user interface and several launch demos, including the popular FIFA 10. There are plenty of PS3 Slim deals available on launch of the console, Amazon and Zavvi are currently battling it out for the best deal available.
