Below is detailed information about what you get in the Nintendo DS console box...
The Nintendo DS just got better! Nintendo's new DSi is going to be as hugely popular as its predecessor, there's no question about that. Nintendo are especially ambitious with their new handheld as they claim to be trying to close the gap between consoles per household and consoles used per household. So you can be sure you're going to get something considerably impressive from Nintendo, much like before with its unique two screens and touch screen technology - changing the way you play games exponentially.
So what's new? Nintendo have the DSi's screen width but at the same time managing to reduce some of the bulk from the handheld - so a little more viewing pleasure and a little less weight in your hands! To further expand the DSi's unique playability, Nintendo have fitted the console with two cameras into it to be used in both games and for general picture taking. Wireless connectivity has been greatly improved and you will now be able to connect with Nintendo's online store. Along with this, for much faster performance the original internal memory has been upgraded four times as much and with the use of SD cards storage goes as big as 32GB!
There will be no need to flog your old DS games as the new DSi is compatible with almost all original DS games, all new DSi games and the newly created DSi Online Shop, offering downloadable games and content for small prices with your Nintendo Points Card. The DSi has been received positively by most reviewers as a definitely worthwhile upgrade to its predecessor it'll bring even more hours of fun to a console that is so very unique.
"The DSi is initially a tough sell to those content with the DS Lite - after all, the DS cartridges are still flowing to shelves at a steady pace and will continue to do so for months if not years from now. But when you look at the bigger picture - exclusive downloadable games, the ability to carry games and software inside the system, the opportunities for camera-based DS gaming - it's hard not to recommend putting down the cash for the new system. At the very least, if you haven't yet jumped on the DS bandwagon you shouldn't even be considering the cheaper DS Lite alternative: the 40 dollar premium gets you far more than you might realize."
"The Nintendo DSi Plays DS and DS Lite games; capable of AAC music playback; larger screens than the DS Lite. The Nintendo DSi is great if you're looking for a new handheld games console, but there's very little point buying one if you already own a DS Lite. It's merely mediocre as an audio player, its VGA cameras are poor and under-utilised, and its battery life is significantly lower than its predecessor's"
"The DSi boasts a new feature that will enable users to download games and other software straight on to their device via a wireless network. Among the initial offerings will be a notepad-style program on which to write notes, as well as puzzle games. Cocker believes the new DSi Ware shop could prove as significant as Apple’s Application Store, which enables iPhone and iPod touch users to download new software to their devices, and which has sold more half a billion applications since July."
